Catch them young for God

27 Dec 2018

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has challenged parents to train their children in the ways of God.

Speaking at a UCCSA Christmas Day service in Moshupa recently, he also emphasised the importance of marriage so as to raise God fearing children. He said there was need for couples to marry and stay married for children not only to be born in wedlock but be brought up in two-parent homes.

Dr Masisi said matrimony came with advantages and challenged parents to encourage their children to marry.

The president, who was accompanied by First Lady Neo Masisi and daughter Atsile thanked God for enabling them to grace the occasion.

Meanwhile, he donated food hampers to congregants and gave others to Moshupa-Manyana MP Karabo Gare to distribute to various wards in the constituency.

The food hampers were later distributed to residents of Dibotong, Mogaung and Mmaseetsele wards in Moshupa as well as to the nearby village of Tshwaane.

For his part, Rev. Derek Silwenga lauded President Masisi for seeking the face of God.

He prayed for the president to be influenced by Jesus in decision making throughout his presidency noting that Christ was a good adviser and counsellor.

He also prayed that President Masisi be endowed with supernatural wisdom and skills to lead the nation in the new year.

Rev. Silwenga said it was imperative to pray for the president as leading the whole country was burdensome.

He thanked the president for demonstrating love saying love should not just be verbalised but should be put into action.

“When one loves; one gives to those who do not have the ability to give back,” he said. Ends
