03 Dec 2018
Member of Parliament for Palapye, Mr Moiseraele Goya, has commended Kgaswe International School’s top achievers for a job well done.
Speaking during the school’s prize giving ceremony in Palapye on November 29, Mr Goya urged the top achievers to continue working hard, adding “be true ambassadors of this school and always remember where you got the foundation of your education”
Mr Goya, also Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, urged pupils to respect their parents and teachers.
He commended teachers, principal and parents for their good relationship, adding that performance of any school reflected on the commitment of the entire community.
Furthermore, he said Kgaswe had strived to teach pupils to become life-long learners over the 32 years of its existence.
The Palapye legislator said the school had endeared itself to the people of Palapye and the surrounding villages.
Kgaswe, he said, had not only raised the profile of Palapye but made the nation proud of the partnership to deliver education.
He said over the years, the school surpassed the international average, stressing that good performance did not come by chance but was earned.
The government, Mr Goya said, valued education and therefore, encouraged the existence of private institutions such as Kgaswe International School since they helped it to achieve its mandate of providing accessible education.
He said partnerships such as this one were welcome since government alone could not afford to provide all amenities to the citizens. He said the school had become a true player in the activities of Palapye and had extended a helping hand to other members of the community.
The principal, Mr Jannie Kleynhans, also applauded the pupils, teachers and support staff for working together as team and urged students to continue working hard to put Kgaswe International School on the map.
He said the school was looking forward to impressive IGCSE, A/S and A level results for January 2019.
Mr Kleynhans also appreciated the expatriate staff at his school saying they contributed immensely to a knowledge-based economy.
He said developed nations such as Singapore had expatriates constituting 40 per cent of the total population. Ends
