World Group donates uniform

19 Sep 2018

The World Group of Companies on September 18 awarded pupils of Neale Sechele Primary School in Molepolole full uniforms.

Speaking at the event, former Molepolole South MP, Mr Daniel Kwelagobe said to date, 19 schools around the country had benefited from the company.

He said Mr Raffik Sadah, chairman of World Group of Companies, which owns companies such as Builders World and Trade World, had been donating uniforms across the country. He thanked him and his company for the good gesture.

Mr Kwelagobe said the company started the donations in Ngami and Okavango areas, but after realising that the need for school uniforms was countrywide, they spread their wings. He said the company first donated footballs but was moved by the poor condition of uniforms worn by some of the students and decided to assist them.

However, when they brought those uniforms, they discovered that more students needed new ones, hence the decision to dress the entire school.

The World Group also donated blankets to the school teachers and supporting staff, including the area dikgosi.

According to Mr Kwelagobe, the company had also offered 20 000 infant clothes to all mothers around the country.

The school head teacher Ms Elizabeth Sedimo said she was happy that her pupils had been provided with uniforms, adding this should be a motivating factor as some had developed low self-esteem due to their appearance.

The school head said their academic performance was average but hoped the donation would motivate students to improve their academic performance.  ENDS
