10 Sep 2018

Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development (MYSC) Mr Kago Ramokate has applauded the Francistown district office under his ministry for its excellence in service delivery.

Speaking at a Francistown district MYSC celebration on September 7, Mr Ramokate said their contribution to excellence in the district was a huge contribution to the ministry’s mandate of providing an enabling environment for the youth in the country.

The permanent secretary further applauded the district coordinator for Francistown Ms Minkie Bokole for her leadership skills that led to her district being awarded the best district award last year.

Mr Ramokate further encouraged Ms Bokole and her team to continue doing well in their service delivery and also urged other districts to benchmark and deliver to their clients.

“We are generally cooperative in pushing the mandate of the ministry. Individually we should look at our contributions and ask ourselves what we could have done better and look at our values as an office,” he added.

He further noted that dedication was required to ensure optimum participation as well as implementing programmes and initiatives in a timely manner.

In addition, Mr Ramokate urged the Francistown district to reflect, strategise and plan for years ahead.

Earlier on, Ms Bokole noted that her district had been awarded the best district because they had set goals which they worked hard to achieve.

“We wanted to see the MYSC family in Francistown growing. We had a positive mindset change in order to go where we needed to go. We branded ourselves as a district of choice,” she added. The district celebrations started off with a market day and fashion show as well as a football match. ENDS
