09 Sep 2018

Tawana Land Board staff members have been encouraged to uphold a healthy life style.

Speaking at the Tawana Land Board wellness day on September 7 in Maun, the Land Board chairperson Mr Emmanuel Dube said a health body equals a healthy mind and ensures appropriate decisions with a positive impact in the workplace are taken.

Mr Dube said the day which has become an annual event helps officers to network and refresh away from their official duties.

He also encouraged the officers to keep on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercising  daily, saying “it should not be for today only”.

Mr Dube observed that activities like jogging at home were affordable and further encouraged those participating in various sporting activities to be motivated since they were doing it for their health and not for awards.

A motivational speaker for the day, Ms Juliet Mmopi encouraged the officers to maintain a healthy diet to live long.

Ms Mmopi also encouraged the Tawana Land Board employees to have enthusiasm in delivering their duties.

She also talked about anxiety which she said has the ability to cause lifestyle diseases like heart diseases.

Ms Mmopi said some things that people worry about ‘may only be imaginary and never happen.’

The employees participated in short races, long races and fun games. ENDS
