Police search for 65-year-old

Police in Maitengwe are on a manhunt for a 65-year-old man of Gutu ward who went missing on August 17. In an interview, Tutume Police Station Commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala explained that the matter was reported to them on August 28.

He noted that the man was last seen on August 17 when he knocked off from his post at Majerengwa government well fields but never reached home.

Supt Halahala said when he knocked off from duty he was to go on leave, and that his colleagues thought he was home while at home the family thought he was at work.

He said upon receiving the report they went on a search and managed to find his bicycle.

Supt Halahala has appealed to the public to assist in the search of the missing person, and called on the village leadership as well as people from neighbouring villages to assist in the search. BOPA
