SPTC completes projects on time budget

Selebi Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) has been lauded for completing all the Economic Stimulus Programme projects on time and on budget.
Mayor Molosiwa Molosiwa gave the accolades when addressing the SPTC full council recently, revealing that 12 teachers’ quarters were now complete and on defects liability period.
He said the council had been allocated P6.5 million for the 2018/2019 financial year for the maintenance of primary school facilities in the town, adding that the project includes maintenance of 64 teachers’ houses at Boswelakgomo, Lapologang and Segomotso primary schools.
He said two projects had commenced and that the contractors were on site while the rest were at evaluation and award stage.
“We are also undertaking some major maintenance works under the financial year 2018/19 recurrent budget. We are pursuing maintenance of 20 teachers’ houses at Itekeng ward and Boitumelo Primary School,” he said.
The mayor further added that constituency community projects for the 2018/19 financial year were at different tendering stages and implored SPTC personnel to do their best to complete the projects on time, on budget and at the right quality.
He also commended the SPTC for completing projects implemented under the 2017/18 constituency community projects programme accordingly, however, he said two projects which included maintenance of Botshabelo Primary School ‘Section 1’ and storm water drainage activities at Boipuso north road to Independence road were still in progress.
He said the maintenance of Botshabelo Primary School ‘Section II’ was retendered for and was currently at LAPAD for evaluation, while excavation of the drains and lining of trapezoidal drains of storm water drainage at Boipuso north road that leads and connects to Independence road was ongoing.
