Acting President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has saluted Prophetess Keorapetse Muzila of Jehovah’s Potters House Assembly to have been inspired to lead the church for the past seven years.

Giving a keynote address at the Jehovah’s Potters House Assembly Classic Women of Faith Conference in Francistown on September 1, Mr Tsogwane described Ms Muzila as a woman of true conviction who is self-confident and had served God with humility.

He told the audience that very few churches in Botswana were women led, saying women in church leadership should not look down upon themselves but should have the spirit to lead dispite many challenges they faced.

“Seek self confidence in the bible because the bible inspires people and expose the challenges they face,” he added.

He further stated that the role of the church was preach the word of God and social justice.

In addition, said moral growth of the nation could not go unnoticed and as such was looking forward to the expansion of the Potters house assembly church beyond Francistwon, Selebi Phikwe and Tutume circuits.

He said government was concerned about gender based violence especially violence against women and girls.

“You will agree with me that we have overtime experienced the increasing number of cases of violence on women and children, particularly the girl child,” he added.

He said gender based violence was still a concern in Botswana though government had prioritsed the fight against it, he added.

“Even though government has put in good legal and policy framework that facilitates institutionalisation of different gender equality and children protection instruments, the country has committed to, gender based violence cases remained high. As such we need your prayers and God’s guidance in all matters of national concern,” he said.

Prophetess Muzila thanked Mr Tsogwane to have accepted the invitation to officiate at the conference.

The theme of the women conference was “Finding your Elizabeth” which was an embodiment of the challenges ever faced by women from time memorial. ENDS
