Residents of Makalamabedi in the Central District have been informed that a clinic was planned for their village.

Addressing a kgotla meeting in Makalamabedi last week, Vice President Slumber Tsogwane said Mr Nadim Bobat of Leseding Interiors would fund the project.

The vice president also toured a housing project for an underprivileged member of society currently at window level.

The house is beng built with through Mr Tsogwane’s assistance who solicited funds from Choppies Chain Stores.

For his part, Mr Bobat said he would also provide underprivileged local tertiary students with spectacles and all the visually impaired.

The Village Development Committee chairperson Mr Letsogile Jane had earlier on requested tarring of Motopi-Makalamabedi road and construction of a clinic.

One of the residents Ms Menomasweu Dihedile expressed appreciation for the promised clinic.

She complained that she had applied for funding under the gender affairs programme but had not been assisted to date.
