Strategic review opportunity to introspect
27 Aug 2018
Minister Of Minerals Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security (MMGE) Mr Eric Molale has stressed the importance of formulating a strategic plan saying it would give his ministry the opportunity to take stock on past successes and failures.
Addressing the ministry strategic plan meeting in Palapye recently, Mr Molale said MMGE was aimed at changing the lives of Batswana by bringing in local participation in the ministry and creating opportunities for private sector to invest in the country.
“The strategy will encourage corporate services of the ministry to agree with one common objective to transform it into reality to help people live better lives,” he said.
The purpose of this strategy was to detail the direction of the ministry over the 2017/2023 period including its strategic initiatives that will allow MMGE to deliver its mandate.
He said the ministry was determined to put forward strategies for its developments not only in response to changing needs, but also as an active and participating agent to drive intellectual, social and economic changes.
Mr Molale further stated that the vision, mission, values and goals of the ministry should be linked with National Development Plan 11 and Vision 2036.
He said the strategic review would help to enable the use of clean energy solutions that help mitigate change and to increase citizen participation in the mining and energy sectors.
Representative from departments and stakeholders under the ministry applauded MMGE for reviewing its strategy, saying that it would help improve the ministry’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product of the country. ENDS
