Dr Madigele applauds Goodhope Sub-district

Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Alfred Madigele, has applauded Goodhope Sub-district staff and councillors for building 25 houses for the needy in the Good Hope/Mabule constituency.
Officially handing over the houses, which were completed on time, at Mmathethe recently, Dr Madigele said shelter was a basic need that gives a human being dignity.
He thanked all stakeholders for their continued support for the sub-district development agenda through their cooperation and hard work.
He said project officers and local contractors in Good Hope/Mabule constituency kick started all the projects and implemented them within the stipulated time.
Dr Madigele stated that construction of the constituency projects for the 2017/18 financial year had been completed and all houses had been allocated to beneficiaries on time.
He noted that the P10-million constituency fund had developed the constituency, as projects were implemented fairly and on time.
He noted that the government initiative, which started in 2011, was to construct shelter for needy persons and people living with disabilities, saying that the programme also assisted local contractors to create employment for themselves and others, adding that local suppliers also benefitted.
Dr Madigele requested the beneficiaries to look after the houses.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Good Hope/Mabule, Kgosi Letlaamoreng II handed six vehicles to Good Hope Sub-district to assist during implementation of the projects.
Southern District Council secretary, Mr Charles Amos was among dignitaries who witnessed the handing over of projects and vehicles and he appreciated the way Good Hope Sub-district was carrying out community projects.
Mr Amos said Good Hope Sub-district is number one among other sub-districts in implementing community projects and completing them on time.
The beneficiaries thanked the sub-district for constructing houses for them, stating that staying in the open, under harsh weather conditions was a thing of the past.
Local contractors who completed the projects on time, were awarded trophies and certificates. ENDS
