Nation building collective responsibility of all

Councillor for Maunatlala, Ms Salome Lesole has called on the community to be compassionate and revive the spirit of volunteerism towards building a legacy and developing their village.
The councillor said this in an interview after donating 10 blankets to Maunatlala Clinic.
Ms Lesole said the Maunatlala home based association had devoted its time and resources to ensuring the wellness in the community, hence as a community leader, she felt the need to meet them half way and contribute towards their success as well as setting an example.
She noted that the donation was made possible with the help of the Member of Parliament for Lerala/Maunatlala, Mr Prince Maele.
Ms Lesole said being involved in community building gave one a sense of belonging and pleaded with the business community in Maunatlala to also play a role in developing the village.
The councillor also encouraged the youth to come up with ideas that could develop the village, adding that the future lied with them as the leaders of tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Ms Lesole noted that recently, 44 orphans from the village were taken for personal clothes shopping in Palapye, an annual exercise conducted by social workers nationwide.
She said the initiative was meant to bridge the gap between the less fortunate and the privileged and to restore the orphans’ dignity. ENDS
