Kgosi Nyambe laid to rest
18 Jun 2018
Multitudes, among them political and traditional leaders thronged Chadibe on Saturday to pay their last respects to the late Kgosi Aaron Nyambe.
Kgosi Nyambe died last week at the age of 72 after a long illness that saw him in and out of hospital.
Speaking at the funeral, Member of Parliament for Tati West, Mr Fidelis Molao said in Nyambe, Chadibe as well as the nation, had lost a true, charismatic and jolly leader who had his people’s interests at heart and also wanted to see developments in the village.
He said Kgosi Nyambe died when he was instrumental and eager to see construction of a tarred road linking Chadibe, Borolong and Mathangwane.
Chadibe lies 25 kilometres southwest of Francistown on the outskirts of Borolong village.
Mr Molao, however informed mourners that the road was on the pipeline and would be undertaken in the near future, funds permitting.
He also explained that Kgosi Nyambe had also wanted a boundary between Chadibe and Borolong, arguing that he felt the latter was now encroaching into their village.
Chadibe’s Councillor Godfrey Legau also described Kgosi Nyambe as a leader who did not discriminate anyone in discharging his duties.
He appealed to Chadibe residents to ensure that they chose another leader soon in order to drive developments in the village.
Affectionately called ‘Lilian Boy Masaka’ by his peers, Nyambe was elected as Kgosi in 1987.
He started his primary education at African School in South Africa from 1961 to 1968. He was employed at Caribar Phamarcy before joining Gucks Cartis as a driver.
He also worked at Concrete Product still as a driver prior to becoming the village leader.
He is survived by his wife and three children; a son and two daughters as well as two sisters and grandchildren. Ends
