Seretse against false prophets
30 May 2018
Bangwato acting regent, Kgosi Serogola Seretse has appealed to the nation to do away with idol-worshiping.
Kgosi Seretse said this at an event dubbed African Revival, Africa Day Celebration and Dedication Service organised by Wordwide Family of God Church recently.
He expressed concern that 'the devil had penetrated Africa and was in our midst'.
“There are false prophets who have caused confusion because our people are desparate and lack knowledge. They are enticed by such people as they seek power and all sorts of stuff,” he said.
He noted that most lacked knowledge. “Government has prioritised education and almost everyone is educated, but we choose not to read. People are destroyed because they do not read and look down upon the word of the Lord,” he said.
He urged Batswana to understand that there was a higher power, adding that “a nation that does not know God is a lost nation.
Kgosi Serogola said although former president, Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama distributed Bibles in most dikgotla’s, they remained unutilised.
“Most of these people only call the priest when death arises and forget about God after the burial,” he said. He said he would like to see an Africa that depended upon the word of God.
Wordwide Family of God Church leader, Pastor Olefeng Kubis said the church must inspire and lead a new fighting spirit that was spiritual, social, economical and political.
“This fight must be accompanied by a determined thrust to unite Africa according to the dreams of her founding fathers such as Kwame Nkuruma, Nelson Mandela, Motsai Mpho, Keitumetse Motsete, Kgosi Bathoeng, Kgosi Sebele and Kgosi Khama.
He said in a period where African youth perished in large numbers trying to cross to Europe for a better life, it was time Africans believed in Africa and her greatness.
“African leaders must do their best to build an enabling environment for our people to pursue this greatness,” he said. ENDS
