Christ Embassy Church urges youth to service loans
27 May 2018
Lobatse Christ Embassy Church organised a business seminar for the community of Lobatse on Friday.
Speaking at the event, pastor Simon Kgotlaetsile said it was the church’s mission to give a person’s life meaning.
He said a human being’s life should have purpose.
He said wisdom and riches go together as per the teaching of the Bible.
Pastor Kgotlaetsile said it was their goal to give people a business mindset because when they had it they were able to start businesses which would in turn enable them to better their lives.
Ms Nametso Dikgole, a representative from the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development in Lobatse told the youth to submit their business proposals for the Youth Development Fund at their office as funds had been made available since May.
She said the funding was made available to youth between ages of 18 and 35 who were unemployed, out of school or under employed.
Ms Dikgole said 50 per cent of the money that was given to youth was a grant and the other was a loan which must be paid back, adding that the money was given on a first come basis.
She said business becomes easier to do when applicants have the skill or experience of the kind of business they intended to embark on, adding that conducting a mini market research before commencing the business was also critical.
Mr Boipuso Lekwape of Local Enterprise Authority in Ramotswa said they were open to train small businesses.
He said their training dates were usually advertised on The Voice newspaper.
He said their services included helping aspirants with the business plan, marketing and record keeping. ENDS
