Bonnana Rotary Club donate blankets to Lephoi Centre

21 May 2018

Bonnana Grooming Centre in conjunction with Francistown Rotary Club donated over 50 blankets to the Lephoi Centre that takes care of children with visual impairment.

Handing over the blankets to the centre recently, Bonnana Grooming Centre director, Ms Sibongile Ntema said she wanted to help the centre in providing children with blankets as winter had approached.

She noted that the centre was struggling to get donations, and that she wanted to lend a helping hand in an area they were facing challenges in.

Ms Ntema also revealed that they were going to donate mattresses in a few weeks’ time to improve the children’s living conditions.

Receiving the donation, Lephoi Centre coordinator, Mr Ephraim Ngoma expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that it would cover some of the challenges they were facing.

He said he would like the partnership to continue and encouraged the donors to also adopt the children so that they could get to see their development.

Ntshe ward councillor, Ms Badubi Lekang applauded the United Congregational Church of South Africa (UCCSA) for a centre that helped Batswana children with vision disability.

She further applauded the donors for lending a hand at the centre and for carrying out the Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate and caring nation.

Cllr Lekang encouraged other churches to emulate what the UCCSA had done, and to also construct their own centres that would benefit Batswana. ENDS
