Tshireletso unaware of Sishokora situation

22 Jul 2013

The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has told Parliament that she is not aware of any Remote Area Development Programme (RADP) students whose parents stay permanently in Sishokora and they are dropped in Gudigwa and expected to walk back to Sishokora cattle post as council has no arrangement to pick up students from Sishokora to Gudigwa.

Responding to a question, Ms Tshireletso said Sishokora was a cattle post and students whose parents lived in Sishokora stayed in Gudigwa with their relatives.  She noted that she was aware that the deep sandy road to Sishokora bordered the Linyanti-Kwando buffalo fence which was highly infested with dangerous animals.

MP for Okavango, Mr Bagalatia Arone had asked the minister to state the distance between Gudigwa and Sishokora cattle posts and whether she was aware that the RADP students whose parents stay permanently in Sishokora are dropped in Gudigwa and expected to walk back to Sishokora. Mr Arone also wanted to know whether the minister was aware that the deep sandy road to Sishokora borders the Linyanti-Kwando buffalo fence which is highly infested with dangerous animals. ENDS
