The President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi on Tuesday visited the family of the late Major Cliff Manyuni to give a message of condolences. Major Manyuni died in a fighter jet crash on the eve of the 41st BDF anniversary on April 27.

President Masisi, who was accompanied by Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane informed the family that it was unfortunate that the nation had to lose such a dedicated employee like Major Manyuni.

He said there was nothing as painful as losing a son and therefore he was bringing the message of condolences to the family on behalf of the nation.

President Masisi explained to the family that Parliament had proposed bills that would regulate the use of social media.

He stated that the public misused social media to the extent of posting distorted information on internal family affairs.

The uncle to the deceased, Mr Gabayo Manyuni had expressed concern at the manner in which information on the tragedy was disseminated through social media. Ends
