The award winning traditional gospel singer, Obakeng Sengwaketse is set to officially launch his thirteen track album titled Ho Tseba Modimo at his home village, Kanye tomorrow

Speaking in an interview, Sengwaketse said after officially releasing the album last September, he now believed it had gained enough mileage to be officially launched.

He said the album was currently doing well and had managed to reach as far as Lesotho where he did a couple of radio interviews and received positive feedback.

According to Sengwaketse, the album was recorded at Black Money Makers Studio and all expenses which are estimated to be over P60 000 were paid by the international award winning Odirile Sento popularly known as Vee and was produced by Reuben Lekoetja.

The album features other gospel artistes such as Vusi Mtokufa who is featured on the track Nkarabe which they composed together, as well as Ouna on the track Tshepo yaka and Mandu Mashaba and Ceasor Modikana on the track Jehova Jeireh.

He said he was looking forward to more features and collaborations both locally and internationally and aimed to make music videos in the process.

Obakeng said he first worked as a promoter and marketing agent for various gospel artistes among them Molly and Keba and later released his first single titled Mohau wa Modimo in 2006.

He stated that after a long break, he later released his 12-track debut album titled Madi a Hae in 2012 which won a BOMU award with the title track Madi a hae also receiving satisfactory airplay.

He also noted that Go tseba Modimo was nominated in two categories but won him 2017 Best Traditional Gospel Album.

Obakeng highlighted that Ho tseba Modimo consists of 12 traditional gospel songs and one contemporary track citing that his focus is on hymns which he said relay a relatable message.

Sengwaketse said he was also comfortable singing them because of his religious background.

On the first track titled O ya Galalela , the musician speaks of the glory of God in the midst of darkness and glorifies God for his help and comfort in times of despair and loneliness.

The second track Ho tseba Modimo also his original composition and title track, speaks of the life of knowing God as the life of victory that comes with selflessness and total surrender.
