Do not politicise bogosi - Kgosi

After five years of patiently waiting, Kgosi Onalekitso Fereki has been installed as a headman of arbitration for Samedupi village.
Kgosi Fereki’s patience and volunteerism was rewarded after the residents submitted his name for approval thorough consultation by Batawana Tribal Authority.
Speaking on behalf of the Batawana regent, Kgosi Oleyo Ledimo informed Samedupi community who came in large numbers that the Minister of Local Government and Rural
Development has listened to their plea to appoint Kgosi Fereki as their headman.
He pleaded with the community to respect Kgosi Fereki and give him all the necessary support so that he executes his duties effectively.
He emphasised that although Kgosi Fereki would be their servant they need to accord him the respect he deserved.
Kgosi Ledimo also urged Kgosi Fereki to treat his subjects equally irrespective of their backgrounds adding that he should understand that they were the ones who elevated him to the position he is currently holding.
Batawana Paramount Chief who is also area MP for Maun West, Mr Tawana Moremi who was accompanied by his regiment Matsaakgang explained that they found it fit to support Kgosi Fereki who is also a member of his regiment.
He also explained the role of his regiment which he said was to bring the communities closer to bogosi by noting their concerns and looking for solutions. Mr Moremi urged Kgosi Fereki to protect the reputation of bogosi and love his job in order to succeed.
Maun East area MP, Mr Kostantinos Markus assured Kgosi Fereki of a good working relationship in driving the village developments.of water.
For his part, Kgosi Fereki thanked all leaders who attended the ceremony assuring them that he would abide by their advice as he had learnt a lot from them. Ends
