Education ministry touches base with clients

22 Apr 2018

Ministry of Basic Education principal public relations officer, Mr Oarabile Phefo said their Contact Centre aims to help improve services to people across the country by providing immediate assistance.

Mr Phefo was speaking at market day activity in Maun to sensitise the community about the ministry’s contact centre in Gaborone and other services it provided. He said the purpose of the contact centre was to provide customers with information needed without customers travelling long distances only to get disappointed.

Mr Phefo explained that the Contact Centre could record calls which were then followed up by professional operators who would then give back feedback to the clients.

He said the contact centre that was introduced in year 2015 was only accessible free to beMobile network users, while other network service users called at a charge.

He further said through the contact centre, the ministry managed to reach out to all schools countrywide.

Furthermore, he said they had so far covered eight out of 10 regions in the country, North West region being the ninth.

He also said he expected the North West region to carry on with taking services to the people who were in remote areas. ENDS
