Miss Teen Universe Botswana promises a night of glitz and glamour as young teens will battle it out for the prestigious Miss Teen crown that will see the queen representing the country in Panama next year April.
Speaking in an interview, organiser of Miss Teen Universe Botswana, Messiah Jackson, said the pageant would be held on April 27 at Mantlwaneng Theater in Gaborone. She said it debuted in 2013 with the aim of grooming a girl child to become a positive role model to her peers by using the pageant as a platform to help in addressing issues faced by teenagers in Botswana.
She said since inception, all the finalists presented their projects to the panel of judges that would leave a positive impact to the community.
“The Queen will then select 10 schools where she gives motivational talk to the learners on issues that affect teenagers such as teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse and financial literacy,” she said.
She said this year’s pageant would be held under the theme: Being a Girl Child while the managing director of New Era College would officiate at the event which would see Michelle Bagoleng crowning her successor by the end of the night.
The Queen will bag P7 000 cash, first Princess who will walk away with P3 000 and the second Princess will get P2 000 cash.
Tickets for the event sell at P400 for VIP which is inclusive of dinner and front row seats, double ticket P300 while standard tickets sell at P200. Ends
