One of the main headliners of the Hamptons Jazz Festival, Billy Ocean has confirmed his participation at the event via his social media platforms.
Speaking in an interview, the media liaison officer for the Hamptons Jazz Festival, Henny Maruapula said preparations have been going well for the festival scheduled for April 28.
Maruapula added that artists who were originally on the lineup have also confirmed, and that there would be no changes to the lineup.
With a lineup boasting and headlined by Billy Ocean, Mali’s Salif Keita and South Africa’s Amanda Black and Zahara, the event is a mixture of top international acts.
Other artists that have also been billed to perform are Lesotho’s Bhudazza, as well as the South African brother and sister duo of Nathi and Amanda Makanyi.
On the local front, Botswana is set to be represented by jazz maestros’ in Socca Moruakgomo, Nnunu Ramogotsi, Thabang Gaorogwe, Shanti Lo, Thato Jessica, Ndingo Johwa and A.T.I.
He noted that Billy Ocean posted some information and also did a confirmation video on his social media platforms regarding his participation in the show for those that may have doubts about the event taking place.
Maruapula encouraged those wishing to attend to purchase tickets early and not wait for the last minute.
“From March 24 to April 4 we were dealing with refunds with some patrons returning their tickets. This process is done and all refunds will be paid out by April 25,” he said in view of the March 24 postponement.
He further said tickets were available at Avani, online at www.webtickets.co.bw, H20 water (Molapo Crossing and Acacia Mall) as well as Liquorama.
“Permit issues are being sorted and line up schedule with time slots will be availed a few days before the event,” continued Maruapula, adding that there was a current ticket special of P350 for a single ticket.
He said the Hamptons hotline was still 73612961 and available across all social media platforms for any clarifications for customers and those wishing to ask questions on things they do not understand. Ends
