Feed-A-Child thanks Mascom

Feed-A-Child Botswana community development officer, Ms Lorraine Magosi in Maun has expressed gratitude to Mascom for donating P50 000 to her organisation.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Maun on March 30, Ms Magosi said the money would assist her organisation executes its mandate of providing nourishing meals to children whose circumstances are beyond their immediate families’ control.
Ms Magosi said the donation expressed how Mascom understood the need of providing meals to malnourished children.
The money, she said, would help provide more than 22 000 meals to the children.
For her part, Mascom chief communications manager, Ms Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego said at Mascom they would like to see positive change in the lives of vulnerable groups.
She said they had partnered with government to build houses for the needy.
Thus far, Ms Lebotse-Sebego said they had built 33 houses across the country and had pledged five houses per year.
She further said through their information communication technology strategy, her company would like to see more Batswana participating and benefiting from technology.
“That is why we have Tsena, where we are trying to tell the Botswana story and to celebrate local talent,” said Ms Lebotse-Sebego.
Also, she said through Mascom e-schools, her organisation and BoFiNet
wanted to see all schools in Botswana having internet.
Ms Lebotse-Sebego said they were also supporting 105 Kitsong centres in various parts of the country, operated by young people with the support of Mascom.
Mascom supports sports and culture as evidenced by the many sporting codes the company assisted as well as fashion shows that had benefited from the company’s generosity, she said.
As for Mascom Horse Derby, Ms Lebotse-Sebego said for the past 12 years, the event had grown in leaps and bounds.
She said as a result of the event more entertainment events were mushrooming in Maun during Easter holidays and this made Maun lively.
She said she was excited that her company always donated to the needy in Maun during Easter holidays, just before the Mascom derby. ENDS
