Learners converge on Maun for skills development

 Camp Botswana,  an initiative that gives children aged between 6-18 years life skills and keep them engaged in an informal set up during school holidays,  will host its second batch of children in Maun during the April school holidays. 

In an interview, a representative from Camp Botswana Tjipo Keaikitse said among activities that would take place were, horseback safari, horse riding and grooming, music classes, ball sports and others. 

Keaikitse said the children would also undergo various workshops age specific on self-awareness, hygiene and environment. 

About 60 children are expected to be hosted at the two subsequent week-long camps from April 16-28. 

She said the debut camp was a success hosting about 20 children last year. Keaikitse said Camp Botswana was open to children from the whole country. 

The project, she said also involved out of school youth with various skills to impart to the young ones.  She said Camp Botswana was an alternative to keep children engaged while learning different skills at the same time.  The fee for the Camp is P3 800 per child, she said. BOPA
