Police chief appreciates clusters

21 Mar 2018

Superintendent John Kelebeng has commended community clusters in his policing area for coming up with best strategies and practices to fight crime.

He said crime was a serious concern and noted that it was pleasing to see clusters making good efforts to take the monster head on by mobilising the members of the community through a number of strategies aimed at addressing crime problems.

He made the remarks during a workshop to drill and equip some cluster members especially presenters on the best requirements of making a good presentation at the cluster crime prevention competitions.

Superintendent Kelebeng said their efforts in the fight against crime were recognised by all as they performed exceptionally well at the national crime prevention competitions held in Gaborone last year as most of the clusters  scooped position, one, two and three respectively and brought 18 certificates.

On the other hand, Maun police station was crowned as the best and overall winner for excellence in community policing in the whole country.

“We are very proud of you as you represented the district very well as far as crime prevention was concerned. You have made visible efforts and that is a sign of how committed you are in this battle,” he added.

Furthermore, he encouraged clusters double their efforts as they prepare for the coming competitions slated for April adding that they should take the workshop seriously and fully utilise the knowledge and information they acquired. ENDS
