12 Mar 2018

The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi surprised congregants when he attended a church service at Tlokweng United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) on March 11.

Regular church members who were curious over the presence of well-dressed men and women (security officers) and journalists, were surprised when Mr Masisi entered the church building accompanied by his wife, Neo and daughter Atsile.

However, the church’s vice secretary, Ms Boitumelo Selerio informed the congregation that the Vice President was attending the church service, as a devoted member of the UCCSA.

Both Mr Masisi and wife were introduced as devoted members of the church

Ms Selerio explained that Mr Masisi used to attend church regularly but due to his work load as Vice President, he attended the church service when time allowed him.

Ms Selerio explained that the church was blessed to have a person of Mr Masisi’s status as one of its members.

She thanked Mr Masisi, as the incoming President, for seeing it fit to put God in his plans to allow him (God) to determine his destiny. She said the Vice President was a humble man who showed that he was a servant of the people.

She expressed hope that Mr Masisi would continue to attend church service when his schedule allowed him to do so even when he is the President adding that the church would continue to support Mr Masisi in prayer. Mr Masisi pledged 100 garden chairs that will be used at the up-coming regional conference schedule to begin on Thursday until March 18 at the church in Tlokweng.

He was also taken on a tour of the new church building which was built to the tune of P1 million.

The building comprise hall, offices, vestry (where church leaders sit to discuss church issues) and a kitchen. Ends
