Official urges employees to learn organisational culture

Often times job seekers’ only preoccupation seems to be premised more on getting a job and very little about learning organisational culture aimed at advancing the company’s mission and vision.
These sentiments were best articulated by Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Mogomotsi Kaboeamodimo, when giving a keynote address during Kanye Administrative Authority (KAA) 5th excellence awards ceremony at Ledubeng Park in Kanye on February 27.
According to Mr Kaboeamodimo, good character, acceptance and respect for organizational performance culture were some of the qualities that one needed to advance the aspirations of any given company.
“As an employee within an organisation you must adhere to set standards amidst challenges,” he said.
Mr Kaboeamodimo further stated that good work ethic entailed coming to work on time and meeting set targets without failure.
He said failure on any one of the employees to diligently perform tasks assigned to them usually had rippling effects on general clientele.
On awards, Mr Kaboeamodimo was happy that KAA continued to reward excellence year in year out since 2014.
He therefore commended KAA staff for keeping up the good work and rendering best service to the general public.
“I am happy that among others you are able to process your tenders on time and be able to issue stationery to schools without a qualm,” he said.
Southern District Council secretary, Mr Poloko Mojalemotho said KAA, which renders service to almost half the population of the entire district, had to go an extra mile and deliver satisfactorily at all times.
He therefore gave KAA employees a pat on the back for working very hard towards advancement of the livelihoods of people they served.
The next challenge for KAA, according to Mr Mojalemotho, was for the authority to go all out and maintain its infrastructure.
KAA chairperson, Mr Tlhomamo Dibeela, also hailed his charges.
“So far so good because you have been able to do more with less and have shown commitment and unity to the task at hand,” he said adding that thanks to hard work on the part of employees KAA had been able to save about P250 000.
That withstanding, the Dilolwe ward councillor reminded KAA staff that inspite of the many achievements, there was a lot more that needed to be achieved especially in the area of employment creation.
He stated that already, the authority management team had profiled different areas within its jurisdiction with a view to lure investors to come on board and subsequently create the much needed employment.
Time management, best department, long service, best manager and many other categories formed part of the award ceremony that was graced among others by councillors from Kanye Administrative Authority. Ends
