The Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Mr Edwin Batshu has called on the nation to brace itself for congestion at Omang offices countrywide as about 212 970 and well over 42 500 Omang cards will be renewed and issued for the first time respectively this year.
When addressing a kgotla meeting in Kanye on Tuesday, he said over 36 000 such renewals will take place in Kanye.
The Nkange legislator however said his ministry was already working on modalities to help expedite and make the whole exercise as smooth as possible.
Additionally, Minister Batshu remained hopeful that with well over P400 million footed by government towards improvement of ICT infrastructure countrywide for this financial year, things will improve for the better.
On other issues, Mr Batshu told residents that requests for funding for projects under the department of Gender Affairs will remain on hold until such a time when the ministry will have sourced finance and that a statement to that effect will be communicated. Ends
