Ministry of Health and Wellness informs the public to ignore the circulating article on social media, particularly Facebook and WhatsApp, which refers to the outdated events of 2015 when there was a recall of the specific batches of Choppies branded water.

A press release from the Ministry of Health and Wellness says the current circulating material on the recall of Choppies branded water is from the archives of 2015 and the matter was dealt with and was closed.

It further says the ministry has not recalled any products as mentioned in the current circulating posts on social media.

The press release further says the public is advised to note that official correspondences bear the current date, letterhead and signatures of government officials, their  names and positions, hence the public is encouraged to always check the date of publications/posts to avoid circulating unnecessary and misleading information.

The release further says the ministry wishes to assure the public that it is consistently engaged in assessing the quality and safety of food products for compliance to national and international standards. Ends
