Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) youth have been urged to come up with a good strategy that would assist the BDP to win the coming general elections in 2019.

The call was made by deputy secretary general of the party Who is also Minister of Defence Justice and Security Mr Shaw Kgathi when giving the closing remarks at the just ended BDP 2nd National Youth Council and Policy Forum that commenced on Friday and ended on Sunday. The meeting was held under the theme ‘A United and Empowered Youth-Maatla a Domi’.

Mr Kgathi said youth needed to work together to take the party forward.

He urged youth of the party to avoid engaging in self destructive tendencies . He said they should work as a unit to build and grow the BDP.

He went on to note that as the BDP in Bobirwa, they would work hard to retain the constituency under the BDP banner.   

He said all structures including the youth and women’s wing were operational adding that they held branch meetings every month.

Mr Kgathi said the party had engaged new members to make part of the National Youth Executive Committee (NYEC) after the suspension of six members last year.

He called on youth to support the new committee. He said the new committee was made up of hard working individuals.

He went on to urge BDP youth to be proud of themselves and understand they were members of the BDP which was a strong organisation. Ends
