Cases of cervical cancer in Borolong remains a concern and women have been advised to undertake regular check-ups.

Speaking at a health fair hosted by Good hope District Health Management team, a doctor at the Goodhope DHMT, Dr Changi Baikal said they have discovered that cancer cases were dominant in the Goodhope sub district hence their advice to women to go for the Vinegar screening test.

He said the test was beneficial because women found with cancer would be assisted before the cancer develops to an advanced and life threatening stage.

Dr Baikal urged women to treat the matter seriously to avoid chances of the diseases spreading all over the body. He said the test was available at Tsopeng Clinic in Lobatse. He said the vinegar test was convenient as they did not have to wait long to collect the results.

Giving a vote of thanks, Councilor Ogopotse Modibedi advised women to make use of the female condom since it had been improved. He also advised them that they should not forget that the use of contraceptives also help in birth control. The health fair was hosted under the theme “Integrated Health Services focusing on condomising.”  Ends
