14 Feb 2018

As Mascom celebrates 20 years of hard work and success in bringing Batswana innovative services, the company launched Direct BPO (Business Processes Outsources), which is a 100 per cent subsidiary to Mascom.

The Direct BPO will serve as an outsourcing provider and offer clients expertise across a range of sectors such as public sector, tourism, transport, finance, telecommunications and utilities.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, CEO of Mascom, Mr Jose Couceiro said the decision comes after many years of growing their investments as well as their experience in infrastructure development and building of the network to increase Mascom footprints.

He said over the years, Mascom has not only been able to strengthen its cyber streaming services, but has also been able to offer new and diverse services.

Such services, he said, include TV streaming, video demand and others, which are also set to be launched this year.

Mr Couceiro further noted that Mascom’s investment in infrastructure development, which includes many 2G, 3G and 4G technology and the growing of its fiber network, has granted the company an opportunity to diversify its income streams and expand the business.

Managing director of Direct BPO, Ms Asnath Breseno said they were already working with Botswana Investment and Trade Centre to help grow Botswana as a destination choice for BPO.

She said some of the services offered by the Direct BPO included customer service to enable clients to augment their customer care expertise, digital customer service, which will enable clients to offer their customers different contact channels to maximise their customer services as well as sales and retention.

Key success factors of the Direct BPO include a robust technology framework that will accommodate business growth and to achieve this, Ms Breseno noted that they offer a well-trained and motivated stuff and clientele to reduce dependence on a single client for revenue and margin.

Direct BPO is a local company with an international reach and is currently only in Gaborone, but will extend to other areas across Botswana to create employment opportunities.

Some of its service channels include voice call, webchat, email, Facebook and voicemail, among others. Ends
