Commander Association to create jobs
13 Feb 2018
Commander Association is a funding organisation that was established in 2016 and is based in Palapye.
Its establishment came at the right time because many youths are unemployed, and it will help curb unemployment through creating jobs and giving people financial freedom.
Unemployment is one of the problems faced by the youth and those who are working are faced with financial constraints because of the high cost of living, and it is important that people come up with different initiatives that will curb the challenges.
In an interview, the chief executive officer of the association, Mr Kabelo Tabona explained that an investment of P1 000 was needed in order to join and a monthly subscription of P500.
As the money accumulates, he said subscribers would get a certain amount of the money that they invested after a period of time, and then start their own businesses or they could choose to be shareholders of the business and get a certain amount of the profits depending on the performance of the business.
He highlighted that there were different ventures which included chicken production, lodges and pre-schools which they were planning to start soon.
He explained that they have secured a plot in Mmankgodi which they would use for brick moulding, and that the operations would start by the end of this month. Mr Tabona also said there was a lodge that was built in Palapye, and that its construction was reaching completion.
One of the senior officials in the association, Mr Meshack Koobuse said they have donated stationery and shoes to all Lerala primary schools, bought groceries for 40 families in Palapye and they also took part in prize giving ceremonies of Palapye schools as a way of giving back to the community.
