Public speakers to meet in Gaborone

Botswana will host the annual African Public Relations Association (APRA)  meeting in Gaborone from the May 9 to 11 under the theme: Representing Africa.

A press release from the African Public Relations Association says APRA Botswana will host an array of speakers and facilitators from both within and outside Africa. “The conference will be attended by professionals from various sectors of the communications industry including public relations, marketing, advertising, branding and the media.”

The release emphasises that the conference will be on story telling as a tool of public relations, a re-evaluation of the ethics of the profession, issues of fake news and alternative facts.

The conference will consist of plenary sessions, workshops and trending case studies.  Delegates will get an opportunity to also experience Botswana’s rich cultural heritage and famous wildlife,” it states.

The chairperson of the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa- Botswana chapter, Ms Faith Tumelo explains in the release that they are excited to host the 2018 conference and are incorporating a lot of tourist attractions to make it an unforgettable experience for the delegates.

Ms Tumelo also states that full details of the tourist destinations to be visited by the delegates will be shared well ahead of the conference. BOPA
