Molefhi to attend World Urban Forum

Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Mr Nonofo Molefhi along with the ministry’s senior officials will attend the World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 7-13.
A press release from the ministry states that the theme will be: 'CITIES 2030 – Cities for all implementing the New Urban Agenda (NUA).'
During the forum, the minister and his delegation will participate in side events and exhibitions to share their experiences on the implementation of the new Urban Agenda with other countries, explore new innovative urban solutions and also meet urban experts, professionals and enthusiasts.
The release explains that the UN-HABITAT established the World Urban Forum (WUF) in 2001 to address issues of rapid urbanisation and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change and policies.
It further says the WUF9 forum will engage in a massive exhibition, informal discussions and latest innovations on the implementation of the new agenda.
The minister and his delegation are expected back home on February 14. ENDS
