Khama prays for more rains

President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama has told residents of Tati West constituency that he wishes Botswana good rains during his last two months in office.
Speaking during a Kgotla meeting to bid the community farewell on Friday in Masunga, he stated that it would make him happy to receive more rains throughout the country to enable Batswana to plough.
President Khama said before he retires from the Presidency he would love to continue visiting Batswana in their settlements just as it had been his culture in the past 10 years.
President Khama thanked the community for the gifts that he said he would treasure and take care of.
However, he expressed displeasure over some Batswana who attack others on social media stating that this was an indication that discipline was lacking.
President Khama further said Batswana were perishing due to road accidents and drug abuse, which he noted emanated from lack of discipline.
He stated that upon leaving office he would like to continue with his legacy and help the less privileged citizens across the country.
He said his government had done a lot by subsidising commodities such as fuel and power to ensure all Batswana could access such.
As a patron of arts and culture, President Khama aencouraged Batswana to preserve culture.
In his remarks, MP for Tati West, Mr Biggie Butale thanked the President for visiting many villages in his constituency during his tenure.
He stated that he had learnt a lot from President Khama, most importantly punctuality.
Mr Butale said President Khama promoted sport and culture to a point where Botswana became a super power in sport.
He highlighted that with the President’s support, Masunga/Tshesebe road was being construction.
Kgosi Maruje III thanked President Khama for the developments in the North East.
He said President Khama was a caring and compassionate leader.
“Your legacy lives on, you resuscitated Batswana to be proud of who they are,” he said. Ends
