Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency has been applauded for building two houses under the Presidential Housing Appeal initiative in Pitsane and Gopong.

Speaking during the houses ground breaking ceremony recently, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Eric Molale said the gesture showed that they formed part of a nation that displayed a giving spirit and compassion to Batswana.

He said when he learnt about the need of one of the beneficiaries, Ms Moleseng Sereiwa, he approached CEDA which listened to his plea. He said even though they worked on a tight budget, they saw it fit to continue helping the nation.

He explained that Presidential Housing Appeal had been fruitful and already 700 houses had been built for those in need.

Mr Molale also applauded President Khama for his leadership, indicating that the housing appeal displayed his good leadership skills and governance.

He said even though funds were always limited to perform all that government wished to do for its people, testimonies from such initiatives as Housing Appeal showed that government was committed to achieving its goals.

He also urged Barolong to take advantage of Poverty Eradication Programmes to better their lives, advising  them to be patient when applying for these programmes.

He was all praises for the Poverty Eradication beneficiaries and pleaded with them to help those who were interested in taking advantages of the initiative.

He said government was strategic in offering poverty eradication initiatives such as egg tray machines in Pitsane which would assist those already engaged in poultry farming.

He said to make Poverty Eradication initiative successful, they had increased manpower to help in applications consideration.

CEDA chief operation officer, Mr Andrew Madeswi applauded President Khama for such a ‘fruitful’ initiative. He said having a roof over one’s head gave them dignity.

On another point, he said CEDA financed those who wanted to open businesses and those who wished to expand existing ones.

“In Good Hope Sub- district alone, we have financed Mosesedi farmers with P70 Million,” he revealed.

Mr Madeswi also applauded Good Hope Sub- district council for working cooperatively with them.

In an interview with one of the beneficiaries, Ms Moleseng Sereiwa, she thanked CEDA for giving her shelter. She said this would give her dignity and also thanked everyone who made sure she got  help. Ends
