Organisation reaches out to learners
23 Jan 2018
A newly established youth-focused organisation has vowed to reach out to young people in schools and help infuse positive behaviour in them.
The organisation, Leaders International was registered last year. It has 75 members who include students and government employees such as teachers.
During an interview, leader of the organisation, Mr Meshack Koobuse said the target for this year was to travel across the country and motivate over 64 000 students in schools.
He said Leaders International was ‘very concerned’ about academic excellence of youth in Botswana and it was through giving motivational talks to students that their aim could be achieved.
Not only does the organisation motivate learners, it has also embarked on community development projects where they help uplift the lives of the underprivileged members of the community.
“We identify needy members within the communities we live in and then appeal to members of those communities to help sustain those families by donating food and clothes to them.
We do this because we care for people and want everyone to leave a comfortable life,” he said.
Mr Koobuse appealed to the public, corporate businesses and government departments to come on board and partner with the organisation or sponsor the initiative to help deliver its mandate. Ends
