Masisi meets residents
04 Jan 2018
Vice President Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi on January 2 completed his string of social interactions with children across the Moshupa/Manyana constituency where he gave them sweets and blessings for the new season.
Mr Masisi explained that it was critical to raise children in the fear of God because they were the bedrock of the nation.
The area MP , who would become President on April 1, thanked residents for having entrusted him with the constituency.
Though his responsibilities would naturally grow when he becomes President in April, he assured residents that they would forever be in his heart.
Mr Masisi has encouraged parents to secure their children’s future by finding a suitable replacement who would to take over when he leaves.
He said his ideal candidate was someone who would work with him to advance the interests of the community.
He started his meeting at Goo-Kodisa with a moment of silence in memory of the late Ms Tshwanelo Kgakga, mother to Kgosi Moanakwena Keloneilwe, who died on December 9, 2017 aged 96.
Mr Masisi conveyed his condolences to the family and apologised for having missed the funeral service due to official business.
Mr Masisi further reminded residents that Goo-Kodisa had been incorporated into Moshupa and encouraged them to apply for plots. He also informed residents that solar lamps would be installed at Goo-Kodisa through the Constituency Fund.
Mr Masisi had earlier on encouraged residents of Tshwaane to document their history and be thankful to the Thupane family for giving them a piece of land to set up the settlement they now called home.
He also informed residents that he would consider Kgosi Loikotlhae Baitiri’s request for more solar lamps to be installed in Tshwaane.
He also told residents that he would remain steadfast to his vision to see Tshwaane eventually becoming a village. ENDS
