The Presidential Housing Appeal; an initiative by President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama continue to bear fruit as many families and individuals benefit through provision of housing units.
Botswana Police Service’s South Central Division also donated a house to Mr Rantu Maletsanaka of Leshibitse in Mochudi West constituency recently. When officially handing over a house, Police Commissioner, Mr Keabetswe Makgophe applauded the police for their compassionate and loving hearts that compelled them to build a house for the beneficiary. He said this shows that police officers care about the needs of the community they serve.
By donating a second house in the same village, he said was an indication that there was something special about the village. Mr Makgophe said ever since the call by President Khama to house needy families, they had responded positively to the request.
He said he was proud of the South Central Division police officers who did not even request for funding from their Social Responsibility Fund.
The commissioner pleased with Mr Maletsanaka to care of the house. Mr Makgophe also advised the beneficiary that the house was not for sale and asked Kgosi Tosh Kgotlele of Leshibitse to ensure that the house was not sold.

Mr Letsholo said they could not have completed the house was it not for donors who came on board to help them with materials and furnishing of the house. The beneficiary, Mr Maletsanaka thanked Botswana Police for the gesture.
He said he was the happy that he now had a house.
In his welcoming remarks, Kgosi Kgotlele said they were blessed and honoured in the village to receive the second house from Botswana Police.

When giving vote of thanks, councillor Tshepo Kwapa of Mosomane thanked the police for responding to the housing appeal initiative by President Khama.
