Masisi visits UK

Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi says his visit to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland will benefit Botswana development wise.
Speaking to the media before leaving for UK on Saturday, the Vice President said the expectation was that the outcome of his official visits would benefit the country. Mr Masisi further said that he would visit a number of institutions, amongst them the University of Cambridge, which is a key partner in a number of policies and programmes meant to take the country forward.
He said he intended to benchmark as well as share ideas that could help in developing Batswana.
He will also visit the offices of De beers to get first-hand information on the company’s operations.
Vice President Masisi is also expected to visit the House of Commons for various issues looking at the fact that Botswana’s constitution was copied from Britain as the country’s colonial master.
He will also hold meetings with the Minister of State for Commonwealth, , as well as the Minister for State Africa to discuss issues of mutual interest between the two nations. Mr Masisi will also be a headline speaker at an Invest in Botswana breakfast seminar to woe potential investors to Botswana.
He promised to promote Botswana’s investment policy by highlighting certain opportunities and benefits that the country had put in place to attract foreign investment. The Vice President is expected back on Saturday. BOPA
