13 Dec 2017
Employees of Tati Land Board gathered at Ntimbale Dam at Masingwaneng village in the North East District on December 9, where they embarked on a team building exercise.
The purpose of the exercise was to build an exceptional team that would ensure that all Tati Land Board goals and standards are being met and achieved within stipulated time, something that will assist the board to satisfy all its customers, hence avoiding complaints from the general public.
Giving the land board employees’ motivational words, the North East District commissioner, Mr Keabetswe Lesiela said since the history showed that the Tati Land Board was one of the most performing boards throughout the country, this gave hope that the employees understood what to do concerning their responsibilities.
Mr Lesiela said each organisation functioned through different sections, which on regular basis needed one another in order for the job to be well done.
He urged them to work as a team if they were to win the target set before them; saying ‘behind the success of an organisation is a powerful team.’
The district commissioner said for them to keep the flag of the Tati Land Board flying high, they should emulate the spirit shown in a football team, where each team player understands their responsibility, saying each employee should approach their job, looking at the bigger picture that would take the organisation to a certain level.
Mr Lesiela further said it was crucial for every employee to know and understand their role in the organisation as well as understand the existence and the role of a particular organisation they were serving under, noting that by so doing this could assist the management to run the organisation smoothly.
He also reminded the employees to know one another, in the sense of their strengths and their weaknesses and to also rely on one another, saying in every organisation, people approached their jobs in a different way and pace, but all in all, everyone is important in keeping on the life of the organisation.
Mr Lesiela urged them to play their roles effectively, knowing that one’s mistakes could ruin the images of all employees and that of the entire Tati Land Board.
He said since they were assigned to a sensitive role of managing an important source, being land, they should by all means avoid being involved in corrupt practices.
For his part, Tati Land Board chairperson, Mr Godfrey Habana said he was happy that they were building a team towards 2018, which would assist his board to put more effort in delivering its mandate.
He added that the exercise was also an eye opener to employees and this would drive them to approach their jobs even more united than before.
Mr Habana further said since they spent most of their time at their work places, they should know that they are one family.
The acting Tati Land Board secretary, Mr Martin Nzehengwa was hopeful that they managed to build a winning team. ENDS
