First Aid skills critical
12 Dec 2017
Kanye based Optimax First Aid trainer, Mr Donald Habana says it is important for all Batswana to equip themselves with basic first aid skills.
Mr Habana made the call in an interview with BOPA at the end of a three-day first aid training for the Lotlhakane East Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDAC) youth at Maraka Junior Secondary School.
Mr Habana said more lives could be saved, especially during accidents, if more Batswana could arm themselves with requisite first aid skills.
He explained that his company saw the need to capacitate church members with the skills because they travelled extensively.
Mr Habana said his company was busy drawing a schedule to accommodate SDAC branches who have so far shown interest in undergoing the training.
He said the training they offered was relatively affordable compared to other players in the market because the objective was to more empower than to make profits.
Lotlhakane East SDAC youth leader, Ms Lesego Bareki encouraged young people to enroll for the training, get life skills and save lives, adding that, “God helps those who help themselves.”
Ms Bareki said young people in the church travelled a lot on church outings. She was thus happy to have acquired skills, especially how to keep calm during an accident or emergency situation.
She was therefore happy that attendants from now henceforth, would be able to handle any emergency situation that might arise during a church excursion or at any time of their lives.
Youth clerk, Mr Ofentse Motswagoleele saw the training as an opportunity to serve. He believed it was God’s will for people to help one another. He said service could drive people to salvation. ENDS
