Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation, Mr Prince Maele has applauded Boom Technical Services for making a significant impact in the lives of the poor.

Minister Maele said this during a house handover ceremony in Mokobaxane on December 8.

Boom Technical Services, he said, had restored Mr Bantsehela Ntshwarelang’s dignity  by erecting a house for him.

He said they have responded to President Khama’s five D’s as much as the just ended Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate,  just and caring nation.

The donation, he said, was a welcome development as government alone could not afford to provide shelter to all the underprivileged members of society.

He also noted that shelter was a basic need of a human being.

He added that the donation should not be done with pride and  emphasised  that it should be done as an act of love.

People, he said, were not all equal and that there would be those who could not afford to erect houses, and that those who could afford should reach out to them.

He added that since the inception of the housing appeal 797 houses have been handed over.

The director of Boom Technical Services, Ms Setlotleng Nyoni said the company upheld the spirit of showing support and care towards others, especially the needy.

The house, she said, consisted of three rooms and was built at a tune of P130 000.

The handover included a water pipe and a pit latrine.

She said they were responding to President Khama’s housing appeal.

Debswana representative, Mr Wanano Molefe said the company encouraged contracted companies to donate to the poor.

Kgosi Christina Moloi of Orapa said Mr Ntshwarelang was identified whilst passing by his yard, and that they saw his wife trying to building a house with mud.

She contacted Boom Technical Services to seek help and the project was started in 2015 and completed in 2016.

The councillor, Mr Orapeleng Dikgang encouraged the beneficiary to take good care of the house. ENDS
