Maun Administrative Authority assistant district commissioner, Mr Ramogaupi Gaborekwe has applauded the contribution of various donors in the upliftment of the livelihood of people.
Speaking at a Christmas party for children living with disabilities at Tshidilo Stimulation Centre (TSC) recently, Mr Gaborekwe said it was gratifying to see the board of governors and staff responding positively to the President’s appeal of helping the underprivileged in society.
He said government appreciated the good work of the centre and was channeling funds towards centres such as Tshidilo Stimulation Centre to improve and ease the challenges faced by children and caretakers.
Mr Gaborekwe further said government has established an office that coordinates issues affecting people living with disabilities in the Office of the President and encouraged stakeholders to utilise it.
Furthermore, he advised parents to recognise the different talents that children with disabilities had with a view to develop them.
In addition, Mr Gaborekwe encouraged the board of governors to continue with the good work and shun practices that might tarnish the centre’s good reputation.
For his part, TSC board chairperson, Mr Seoka Kenosi expressed gratitude towards donors and sponsors who always made the Christmas party possible and successful every year.
He said the yearly event was meant to appreciate the children and put a smile on their faces. ENDS
