BEC releases PSLE results

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2017 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results.
A press release from BEC says a total of 44 427 candidates wrote the 2017 examination showing an increase in candidature of 4.49 per cent from the 2016 candidature of 42 517 (Forty Two Thousand Five Hundred and Seventeen).
The 2017 PSLE overall performance indicates that the proportion of candidates obtaining Grade C or better went up by 1.11 per cent from 70.51 per cent in 2016 to 71.62 per cent in 2017.
The percentage of candidates obtaining Grade A in this examination has gone up by 1.06 per cent from 16.05 per cent recorded in 2016 to 17.11 per cent. Currently there are 18.78 per cent of candidates at Grade B compared to 17.88 in 2016, representing a slight increase of 0.9 per cent.
At the lower grades, the proportion of candidates at Grade D has decreased by 0.47 per cent from 22.09 per cent in 2016 to 21.62 per cent in 2017.
There has also been a decrease of 0.75 per cent from 7.30 per cent in 2016 to 6.55 per cent in 2017 at Grade E. ENDS
