Follow-ups remove delays - Masilo

Residents of Phitshane Molopo who have been assessed for poverty eradication programme have been urged to make follow ups when there are delays so that they can be assisted.
Speaking at a Kgotla meeting hosted by the Presidential Task Team from the Office of the President on November 27, chairperson of the team, Colonel Duke Masilo said they came to access projects and hear from those who were experiencing challenges.
He said they last came in February to hear their concerns and were back to find out what had transpired.
Most of the LIMID beneficiaries had shown concern that ever since the assessment, they had not been assisted.
Some beneficiaries for other projects like Ipelegeng complained about the short period that they were enrolled for the programme.
Answering their pleas, Colonel Masilo said to avoid unnecessary delays, they needed to report their cases to the office of the District Commissioner.
He advised them to always remember the names of the officers who assisted them. He said Ipelegeng programmes had many beneficiaries enrolled for, therefore it was necessary for them to take turns so that everyone benefitted.
On another point, he assured them that they would investigate these cases and make sure that they were assisted.
The coordinator of the Service Centre in Phitshane Molopo, Ms Lorato Mopako said that they were doing everything they could to assist the beneficiaries, and noted with disappointment that some beneficiaries preferred to go to Good Hope when there were officers at the service centre who could assist them.
She said she had advised beneficiaries whose businesses were doing well like of bakeries to save money and buy themselves other necessary equipment that could benefit their projects.
The team will host meetings in different villages in the Good Hope Sub -district council. ENDS
