New sportwear company dreams big

09 Jul 2013

Main weakness with mankind is familiarity with the word impossible. He knows all the rules which will not work or cannot be done.

These are words from a book titled Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Despite many people having zeal to start their own business entities, many fall along the way when they meet challenges and fail to convert defeat into stepping stones to opportunity.

Nonetheless, this is not the case with others who pursue their dreams with all they have. Even though Pedigree Sport Company is a newly introduced sport label, what inspires is that it is headed by young men who have given all to the success of their dream.

The company, led by two young men, Messrs Allen Molomo and Oteng Moroko seeks to establish a brand of its own. In an interview, Mr Molomo who was studying media studies at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology said he left school to pursue his dream.

He said they wanted to come up with a sport brand that would impact the community and be appreciated by the nation. Mr Molomo said the sport brand was launched more than a month ago at Rasesa Lodge and the president of Botswana Football Association, Mr Tebogo Sebego who attend the launch, pledged his support.

Furthermore, he said he had been to South Africa to have a clear understanding of how sport brands could benefit in sport and believed that what he had learned would be a stepping ladder to greater heights.

The young men understood that Rome was not built in one day, so they took each day as it came, but had a burning desire that their brand would make a mark across the globe. Mr Molomo said Batswana had given them a lot of support because already some teams had expressed interest in being dressed by them.

He added that they would be dressing some teams in Kgatleng among them Mochudi United which played in the Second Division. “We are going to be providing football kits for this team on their home and away games,” said Mr Molomo.

He said 20 out of 30 teams had shown interest and he hoped that they bring them on board as that will be a marketing strategy to reach other parts of the country. ENDS
