Department of Wildlife and National Parks in Kweneng has donated food hampers, two beds, bedding, roofed a hut, cleared the yard and fenced the yard for a blind elderly woman of Ntloolengwae ward in Molepolole.
District wildlife officer, Ms Seiphimolo Masabase revealed that they got to know of Ms Seitsapeng Baitseng back in 2013 when they approached the Village Development Committee to assist them in identifying an individual who required immediate help.
After some time, we came back and assessed her situation again and we saw it fit to fence her yard and clear the place.
The state of the yard was unpleasant and we needed to attend to it urgently.
We approached many companies to assist us and fortunately they heard our cry and they came on board and made our project a success,” she said.
She expressed gratitude to companies such as Furnmart, Builders World, Two Moleps for assisting the to complete the project.
For her part, deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism, Ms Goitseone Madikwe commended the Department of Wildlife and National Parks for making a difference in Ms Baitseng’s life.
“What warms our hearts is that the people who donated all these materials to Ms Baitseng used their own resources, time and energy.
“My heart is full of joy.
I am very much thankful to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.
They might think what they have done for me is small, but to me it is an incredible act of kindness.
I will forever be grateful to them and I bless their hearts for they have restored dignity back into my life” said Ms Baitseng. BOPA
